About the Program

The M.Sc. programme in Power Engineering at Warsaw University of Technology runs three semesters and is taught in English, with annual tuition of 4500 EUR, based in Warszawa, Poland. Students gain knowledge of recent achievements in the field along with the methods and tools that prepare them for management positions in industry or for research work. The third and final semester is devoted to solving a research problem, with the problem statement and its solution forming the master's diploma thesis. Graduates are prepared for creative work and research within process control in the power industry and related industries, and they develop the ability to advance techniques of energy conversion and maintain power systems. The programme also prepares graduates to modernise machines, implement new technologies, and establish or manage small enterprises in the power energy sector, as well as to undertake PhD studies in power engineering or related fields. Sample modules include Computational Fluid Dynamics, Energy Efficiency, Energy Policy and Law, Numerical Methods in Heat Transfer, Algorithms and Programs of Heat Balances, Advanced Heat Transfer, Advanced Renewable Energy Sources, Future Power Technologies, Statistical and Non-Equilibrium Thermodynamics, Neural Networks, and Project Management. This combination of technical modelling, policy, and management coursework reflects how power engineering as a field increasingly spans plant design and operation as well as regulation, efficiency, and the transition toward renewable and low-carbon energy systems. Based in Warszawa, Poland's capital and a centre for national energy policy and major engineering firms, Warsaw University of Technology gives students access to industry and government contacts relevant to their studies and eventual careers.
