Master in Energetics

Poznan University of Technology offers a master's program in Energetics, taught in English in Poznań, Poland, over three semesters, or about one and a half years. The Green Energy study course was created for students seeking an engineering education aligned with the needs of sustainable development and the growing importance of ecological production, transmission, distribution, and use of energy. Energy systems in many countries are expected to change significantly in coming years, and their sustainability is described as extremely important in environmental, economic, and social terms. Graduates of Green Energy are described as specialists prepared to lead green transformation efforts internationally. The education is built on technical knowledge in electrical power engineering, thermal technology, economics, and environmental engineering. Studies begin each year in February. The first semester is partly devoted to strengthening the basic knowledge of candidates studying abroad and of students whose bachelor's studies were in majors other than energy, electric power engineering, thermal engineering, or environmental engineering, so that all students reach the standards set by the Ministry of Education and Science. Regular coursework then focuses on green and renewable energy, environmental protection, and electric power engineering, along with modeling and simulation classes. Students also have the option to select elective courses during their studies, including topics such as European Union strategies in energy supply. Energetics, or energy engineering, covers how power is produced, distributed, and consumed across a system, with a growing emphasis on renewable sources and sustainability. Graduates of programs like this one are positioned for roles in renewable energy project development, environmental engineering, and energy policy or planning work, both within Poland and internationally.
