About the Program

The Graduate Programme in Environment Protection Engineering at Warsaw University of Technology, in Warszawa, Poland, is a master's degree taught in English over four semesters, with yearly tuition of 6,000 EUR. The programme centres on research and engineering activities aimed at reducing the negative impact of human activity on the environment, and it is primarily designed for graduates of undergraduate programmes in environmental engineering or related engineering fields such as civil, mechanical or chemical engineering. Students build broad knowledge and systems-thinking skills, covering environmental law and economics, impact analysis, risk analysis and decision making, mathematical modelling, and environmental quality assessment and management, considered from both national and EU perspectives. The curriculum deepens students' background in environmental physics, chemistry and biology, introduces techniques for environmental data analysis and mathematical modelling, and develops practical skills for designing and managing environmental protection measures. Training spans a wide range of environmental technologies, including water and wastewater treatment, air pollution control, water and soil quality control, solid and hazardous waste management, and the environmental aspects of energy production and use. To build teamwork and collaboration skills, technical training is complemented by coursework in social communication. The first semesters of the programme give students in-depth knowledge of mathematics, physics and chemistry, followed by specialised engineering subjects. Warsaw University of Technology is one of Poland's leading technical universities, and its Faculty of Environmental Engineering gives students access to laboratories and applied projects addressing water, air and waste management challenges. Graduates go on to work in environmental consultancy, utilities, government agencies and industry, or continue to doctoral studies in engineering or environmental science.
