Olsztyn, Poland Taught in English Open to international students

About the Program

This master's programme, titled Process Engineering, Environment Protection, is delivered jointly by the Faculty of Geoengineering at the University of Warmia and Mazury in Olsztyn, Poland, and the Faculty of Mechanics and Engineering at the University of Applied Sciences in Offenburg, Germany. Taught in English over three semesters, the course has run for international students since the 2008/2009 academic year, with intakes starting in the spring/summer semester. Students spend one semester in Offenburg and one in Olsztyn; in the third semester, they may choose where to study. On successful completion of the three semesters, students receive a double MSc, with certificates awarded by both universities. Throughout the programme, students take part in real-world projects alongside lectures and laboratory classes, working on problems related to the use of the natural environment through a range of technologies. They learn to apply advanced research techniques to draw conclusions about the state of the environment. Graduates are prepared for careers in industry or academic institutions, equipped with both the technical skills and the practical project experience the dual-location format provides. The programme is open to applicants who hold a bachelor's degree, as well as those who have already completed a master's degree, in fields including biotechnology, environmental engineering, chemical and process engineering, environmental protection, civil engineering or a similar subject. Admission requires submission of the bachelor's degree diploma together with a transcript of records. The joint format with Offenburg gives students exposure to two national systems of technical and environmental engineering education, along with the language and cultural experience of studying in both Poland and Germany over the course of the degree.
