Master in MEng Mechatronic and Cyber-Physical Systems

The MEng in Mechatronic and Cyber-Physical Systems at Deggendorf Institute of Technology is a consecutive programme for graduates of mechatronics or related fields, focused on networked systems in digital production. The programme covers four technologically-oriented study areas: Modern Simulation Systems, Cooperative and Autonomous Systems, Innovative Human-Machine Interfaces, and Additive Manufacturing. Two interdisciplinary units address the application of Cyber-Physical Systems and the Functional Safety of software-based control and automation systems. The programme runs for 3 semesters. The first semester covers Cyber-Physical Systems, Advanced Robotics, Autonomous Systems, Advanced Modelling and Simulation, and related case studies. The second semester addresses Human-Machine Interfaces in VR/AR, Technologies of Additive Manufacturing, AM Production Processes, and Functional Safety. The third semester includes an elective, the Master's thesis, and a seminar series on career entry into German technology companies. Four of the eight modules incorporate case studies designed to develop professional and interpersonal skills through small-team work on practical scenarios. The programme is taught in English only. Students starting in the winter semester are based in Deggendorf; those starting in the summer semester are based in Cham.
