The International Postgraduate Studies in Mechatronics at the University of Siegen is an interdisciplinary programme offered jointly by the Department of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science and the Department of Mechanical Engineering. The course draws on the synergy between these fields to give students the scientific foundations and methods needed for the development of integrated technical systems. Study runs over 4 semesters. The first two semesters cover postgraduate courses in Control and System Theory, Electrical Engineering, Electronics, Signal Processing, and Mechanical Engineering, including laboratory work and elective modules. The third semester introduces Embedded Systems, Applied Computer Science, and further electives, with more than 20 elective modules available. The fourth semester is dedicated to the Master's thesis, carried out within an active research group. Continuation into a doctoral programme leading to the degree Dr-Ing is also possible. The programme is based at the University of Siegen in Siegen, Germany.
