Bachelor in Mechatronics Engineering

Mechatronics Engineering at Aalen University is an interdisciplinary bachelor's programme that combines mechanical, electrical, computer, and control engineering. Foundational subjects include mathematics, electronics, computer science, and manufacturing engineering. The curriculum was developed in collaboration with industry and includes both theoretical coursework and hands-on training. The programme spans 7 semesters. The first four semesters cover core engineering and foundation modules. The fifth semester is a compulsory practical semester, during which students complete internships at industrial companies locally or across Germany, working independently on project-related work. The sixth semester deepens knowledge through specialised elective modules with direct relevance to current industry, alongside a supervised project. The seventh and final semester is given over to the Bachelor's thesis, most often carried out in cooperation with an industrial partner. Lab facilities include equipment for actuators and sensors, system dynamics, CAD/CAM, production engineering, robotics, and medical and optical technologies. Tuition fees are EUR 3,000 per year. The programme starts in the winter semester at Aalen University in Aalen, Germany.
