The Master of Science in Biodiversity, Evolution, and Ecology at Freie Universität Berlin draws on the research strengths of the Berlin region, including collaboration with the Berlin-Brandenburg Institute of Advanced Biodiversity Research (BBIB) and scientists from institutions of the Leibniz Association. The programme offers a wide range of courses across biodiversity, ecology, and evolution, resulting in a diverse and regularly updated portfolio of module variants. The programme spans 4 semesters beginning in the winter semester. It comprises an introductory area providing an overview of research areas at FU Berlin's Institute of Biology and an introduction to advanced biostatistics, a supplementary area with a significant number of selectable module variants allowing for specialisation, a project area offering engagement with research groups at the Institute or at non-academic centres in Berlin, and a Master's thesis with colloquium.
