Master Angewandte Informatik

The Master Angewandte Informatik explores the application of computing to cultural, human, and social sciences, with three main areas of focus: artificial intelligence, data science, and media informatics, and additional areas such as ambient intelligence and human-computer interaction. Students can combine their course with a relevant real-world application.

This programme is designed for students with a relevant bachelor's degree, who want to understand and develop modern information systems, from AI to digital cultural spaces. This programme is particularly distinctive for its research-oriented projects, which are carried out in small teams. Students develop and apply artificial intelligence, data science, and media informatics techniques in cultural and media fields — areas where interdisciplinary learning is a key feature, as students can take modules from the humanities, social sciences, and cultural studies. The programme is offered by the Fakultät WIAI, which achieved a top ranking in the CHE Ranking.
