Health Care Aide Certificate

Tuition is New tuition bursaries offering up to $9,000 are available for Health Care Aide students who started their HCA program after July 1, 2022 and are working in continuing care centres..

This programme prepares students to work as health care aides in home care and clinical settings. It includes classroom learning and three clinical placements totaling 360 hours. Students learn to provide personal support and basic health services under supervision. The programme follows the Government of Alberta's 2019 HCA Provincial Curriculum.

10 months, 360 hours clinical placement, blended format with online theory and in-person labs and placements.

Graduates work as health care aides in continuing care and acute care settings.

Completion of English 20-1 or 20-2 with 60% or higher, or English 30-1 or 30-2 with 55% or higher, or equivalent. English language proficiency required: IELTS Academic overall 6 with no band below 5.5, TOEFL iBT overall 71, CELPIP General overall 7 with no section below 6, CLB Level 7 in all four skills, Duolingo English Test score 95, or CELBAN Level 7 in all four skills. Computer literacy required.

On-campus, full-time, 10 months.
