Graduates from the Elektrotechnik und Informationstechnik Master at TH Köln, Campus Deutz, are equipped to work in sectors such as automation, electrical energy, and optics. The three-semester Master of Science programme, with its project-based learning approach, develops students' skills to independently address and solve complex engineering problems.

The curriculum provides three specialisations: Automatisierungstechnik, Elektrische Energietechnik, and optische Technologien, aligned with the university's research focus in these areas.

Nine modules are dedicated to fundamental knowledge and specialisation, while another nine are designated as research and specialisation modules, culminating in a master's thesis. The programme includes a compulsory module in project management, which is both interdisciplinary and project-based. Prof. Dr. Christian Dick, the programme director, brings expertise from the Institute for Automation Technology.

In addition to the structured curriculum, the programme offers a range of opportunities for practical experience and engagement with industry, including through the Institute for Automation Technology, which is particularly known for its applied research and industry collaborations, as well as through the project management module.
