This programme trains students to work as early childhood educators in Alberta. It covers child development, learning through play, and health and safety in child care. Students take part in two practicum placements at real early learning sites. The programme includes instruction on Indigenous knowledge and lesson planning.

1 year, full-time, includes two practicums, offered online and in-person.

Graduates enter roles as early childhood educators in child care centres, day homes, preschools, and kindergarten classrooms.

Minimum 18 years of age, admission interview, Alberta High School Diploma or recognized equivalent, or PLAR. International applicants need English proficiency: IELTS General 6.0 in each band, CELPIP 7 in each band, or equivalent. Official test results must be valid within two years.
