Master in Computer Science

Stuttgart, Germany Taught in English Open to international students

About the Program

The MSc in Computer Science at the University of Stuttgart is an English-taught programme that combines broad computer science education with focused specialisation in one of three majors: Autonomous Systems in Computer Science (AUT), Service Technology and Engineering (STE), or Visual Computing (VC). All compulsory courses are taught in English, while the elective portion of the programme allows students to attend some courses in German. The 4-semester programme accepts students for both the winter and summer semesters. In the first semester, a compulsory module in the theoretical and methodological foundation of computer science is required for each major, alongside core and extended modules. The second semester includes a graded seminar in written and oral presentation skills. The third semester offers flexibility — students may study abroad or complete a research project (12 ECTS), modules from other Master's programmes, additional catalogue modules, or a laboratory course. The fourth semester is devoted to the Master's thesis. A strong research environment and ties to industrial partners in the Stuttgart region provide opportunities beyond the classroom. The programme is offered at the University of Stuttgart in Stuttgart, Germany.
