This three-semester Master's programme in Automotive Systems develops engineering expertise for the development of feedback control systems and software-intensive systems in the automotive sector. The programme has offered two majors since its restructuring in 2023: Vehicle Systems and Automotive IT. Students in the Vehicle Systems major focus on innovative automotive functions for steering, suspension, and powertrain, addressing ride and handling, stability, driveability, and fuel economy. Students in the Automotive IT major concentrate on car communication systems, safe software, robotics, and autonomous driving. The programme runs for three semesters (one and a half years) beginning each winter semester in September. Teaching is conducted in close conjunction with local industry, with practical experience emphasised throughout. Cross-cultural, interdisciplinary student projects are integrated into the curriculum alongside core lectures. In the second semester, two courses in each major are linked with the German Automotive Master's programme to enable exchange between international and domestic students. The final semester is devoted to the Master's thesis, which can be completed at the university or within a company.
