Bowie State University

Bowie State University is Maryland's oldest historically Black college or university. Its academic offerings span more than 30 undergraduate majors, more than 21 master's degree programs, more than 18 specialty certificates and three doctoral programs. Programs cover a variety of high-demand fields, with healthcare degrees among the areas featured in its academic portfolio. Bowie State has reduced gross carbon emissions by 66% since 2007 and generates between 15% and 20% of its energy needs from solar energy across seven sites. More than 60 bioretention facilities help manage stormwater, while three campus buildings have LEED certification.
