Master in Transport

Gliwice, Poland Taught in English Open to international students

About the Program

Transport is a master's programme taught in English at the Silesian University of Technology, completed over three semesters. Graduates of the Faculty of Transport gain education in the functioning of modern transport systems, with particular emphasis on transport means engineering, traffic engineering, and the analysis of transport systems. The programme trains students to address problems in traffic control systems and organisation, along with planning and design work in this area, and prepares them for creative thinking and the application of advanced knowledge concerning the organisation and design of transport systems, as well as the processes and technologies used in road, rail, and air transport. The curriculum includes mathematics, physics, statistics and other foundational courses; an information technology module covering programming and related tools; and a module of technical courses spanning numerical methods, computer simulations, and CAD, CAM, and CAE systems. Students may pursue the Transport Safety Systems specialisation within the programme. Annual tuition is 1800 EUR. Transport engineering as a discipline blends mechanical and civil engineering with systems analysis, covering how vehicles, infrastructure, and traffic control interact across a country's transport network. Typical subjects include vehicle dynamics, logistics, transport safety, and computer-aided design applied to transport infrastructure. Graduates of programmes in this field typically pursue careers in transport safety systems design, traffic management authorities, vehicle and infrastructure engineering firms, logistics companies, and public transport operators. The combination of technical engineering knowledge with systems-level planning skills also supports roles in transport consulting and research, where graduates apply simulation and design tools to improve the safety and efficiency of road, rail, and air transport networks.
