Master in Transport

Transport is a master's degree program at Poznan University of Technology, taught in English in Poznan, Poland, over 3 semesters (1,5 year). The course is intended for transport and logistics engineers who want to broaden their education in sustainable transport, addressing the environmental, social, and economic impacts of transport systems, including pollutant and noise emissions, health protection, and the efficient use of energy and other natural resources, combined with an appropriate level of transport services to meet socio-economic needs. Delivered in English to both Polish and foreign students, the program covers modern means of transport including alternative sources of propulsion, the negative consequences of transport for the environment and ways to reduce those impacts, methodology for environmental emission measurements, safety and environmental hazards in rail transport, the role and importance of public transport, urban rail transport, the organization of transport systems with sustainable aspects in mind, sustainable transport planning, traffic engineering and optimization, and decision support in transport. The Faculty of Civil and Transport Engineering offers this program with the aim of educating engineers to support the needs of sustainable transport, an area of growing importance as cities and countries work to reduce the environmental footprint of mobility. A 3 semester master's program of this kind typically builds on an undergraduate transport, logistics, or civil engineering background, preparing graduates for technical and planning roles in transport systems and infrastructure organizations.
