Students interested in culture and design will explore clothing, textiles, and fashion as cultural phenomena and communication media in the Textil und Mode module at the Europa-Universität Flensburg. Students work creatively, across disciplines, and reflect on their work to develop a keen eye for the significance of material culture, particularly clothing and textile objects. Through projects, workshops, and Lehr-Lern-Laboren students combine textile practice with content analysis, experimenting and researching with materials, and developing their own projects and presentation formats. Students gain insight into various scientific fields, like textile technology and fashion theory, and engage with museums and cultural institutions through excursions. Students qualify for teaching in schools (primary, community, or special education) and extra-curricular settings, such as museums, educational institutions, media, or cultural projects.
