Master in Physiotherapy

Physiotherapy at Nicolaus Copernicus University Collegium Medicum is a five-year, long-cycle master's programme taught entirely in English through the Faculty of Health Sciences. Core subjects include anatomy, physiology, pathology, biomechanics, kinesiology, neurophysiology, medical biology, orthopaedics, prosthetics and orthotics, genetic diseases, rehabilitation, clinical physiotherapy, disabled sports, rheumatology, movement education, balneology, spa therapy, functional diagnostics, and pharmacology. Each academic year includes intra-year work placements in physiotherapy and kinesitherapy clinics and hospital wards, giving students direct exposure to patient care alongside classroom instruction. Graduates are trained to obtain a license to practice and to deliver a range of therapeutic services, including systemic rehabilitation following trauma or surgery and support for patients with chronic conditions. Physiotherapy as a discipline addresses the restoration of movement and function after injury, illness, or disability, drawing on physiology, biomechanics, and clinical medicine. Career paths for graduates span hospitals, rehabilitation centres, sports medicine clinics, and private practice, as well as further study toward research or specialist qualifications.
