Master in Physiotherapy

The Academy of Physical Education in Katowice offers a five-year Master's degree program in Physiotherapy, leading to a Master of Physiotherapy qualification and taught in English. This title is a necessary condition for obtaining the right to practice physiotherapy, which is treated as a medical profession, and student education follows strictly defined educational standards set for medical professions. The study program is aligned with the recommendations of the World Confederation for Physical Therapy's European Region Forum and the European Network of Physiotherapy in Higher Education. Graduates of the program are qualified to work with sick and disabled people in physiotherapy, and they are also entitled to work with healthy people in physioprophylaxis and sports preparation. The physiotherapist qualification allows graduates to work in medical centers as well as in centers offering pro-health prophylaxis and biological regeneration, including wellness and biological regeneration services for athletes. Through the program, graduates acquire the knowledge and practical skills needed to carry out diagnostics for physiotherapy purposes and to perform the full range of therapeutic procedures in physiotherapy for patients of both genders and different ages. They also gain the knowledge and practical preparation required to program and verify the complete diagnostic and physiotherapy process for their patients.
