In the module 'Jazz History' students learn about the historical development of jazz,

from its origins in the African-American communities of New Orleans to the 1960s

This programme places a strong emphasis on practical musicianship, with students engaged in regular performances and collaborations with other musicians. Course content is aligned with the requirements of the Arbeitsgemeinschaft Musikunterricht (AGM), and graduates are eligible to teach music in German secondary schools. The Hochschule Osnabrück campus has a strong reputation for fostering creativity, providing students with resources and opportunities to develop their skills, both in performance and in education.
