About Mechanical Engineering Technician – Non-Destructive Evaluation (fast-track)

This fast-track program is delivered on-campus over two semesters. It prepares students for careers in inspection and quality control through classroom learning, lab-based training and applied practice. Students gain advanced skills in non-destructive testing methods and complete an advanced diploma with multiple certification trainings. The program focuses on examining materials and components without causing damage to ensure safety and reliability across industries.

Focus areas include Non-Destructive Testing, Quality Assurance, Materials Inspection, Welding Inspection, Radiography, Ultrasonic Testing.

Two semesters; 60 credits; on-campus delivery; co-op or placement opportunities available where applicable.

Graduates enter roles such as Non-Destructive Testing Inspector, Quality Assurance Technician, or Integrity Specialist in industries like aerospace, energy, manufacturing, and transportation.

College diploma or degree in engineering, industrial trades or sciences; proof of English language proficiency required; applicants with credentials over 10 years old must have three years of related industry experience and completed one math course and three relevant post-secondary courses; international applicants must meet Durham College’s English Language Proficiency Policy.

On-campus, full-time, two semesters.
