The Master's in Sustainable Regional Development (MRD) addresses practical challenges in land-use planning, circular economy, and urban-rural innovation. The programme trains students to identify regional strengths and build cooperative frameworks for sustainable development, drawing on an interdisciplinary approach that spans spatial planning, resource management, regional value chains, and innovation strategy. The programme runs over 3 semesters and is available for both winter and summer semester entry. The first semester covers spatial planning, land use, communication skills, and research methods alongside elective courses. The second semester turns to sustainable economic development, circular economy principles, regional value chains, and innovation management. The final semester is dedicated to a project study and the Master's thesis with colloquium. Course-specific German and English language courses are integrated into the programme, supporting students who want to strengthen their language skills alongside their academic work. Teaching follows an instructor-led format with set deadlines for lectures, assignments, and exams. The programme is taught in English at the Triesdorf campus of Weihenstephan-Triesdorf University of Applied Sciences in Weidenbach, Germany.
