The international MSc in Biochemistry at Freie Universität Berlin is taught entirely in English and covers all modern areas of biochemistry, combining theoretical training with intensive practical work. The programme includes a foundational lecture series on major aspects of current biochemical research, followed by methods modules of two to four weeks that give students hands-on experience in structural biology, molecular biology, or molecular medicine. Students also complete individual nine-week research projects in groups within the department or in affiliated laboratories, with the option of conducting one of these lab rotations abroad. Scholarships are available to support international rotations. The programme runs over four semesters and concludes with a six-month Master's thesis carried out in a selected research group. It draws on Berlin's research landscape, which includes institutes from the Max Planck, Helmholtz, and Leibniz Societies. The programme is offered at Freie Universität Berlin in Berlin, Germany.
