The Master in Chemical Engineering at FH Münster University of Applied Sciences is a four-semester programme that allows students to specialise in either Chemical Processing or Applied Chemistry. The curriculum includes three compulsory and nine elective modules, which typically take the form of lectures, seminars, and laboratory sessions. A project module is also required, consisting of three projects of 120 hours each covering a laboratory topic, a literature topic, and a free research topic. The programme concludes with a five-month Master's thesis including a defence. Cooperation with external research institutes or industrial partners is possible for the thesis. Students in the first three semesters study regular modules in their chosen specialisation, each compulsory module carrying eight credit points, alongside selections from two catalogues of compulsory elective modules. The programme starts in the winter semester and carries no tuition fees. Graduates are qualified for positions in research and development, and doctoral studies are a possible continuation.
