The MEng in Biochemical Engineering at Hochschule Fresenius covers the principles of chemical and biochemical engineering, mechanical process engineering, and reaction kinetics. Students engage in independent scientific projects and learn to apply engineering practices in line with GMP and regulatory standards relevant to biochemical processes. The curriculum includes biochemical process engineering, mechanical process engineering and fluid mechanics, biomedical and statistical data science, thermal process engineering, process optimisation and statistical design of experiments, business administration for chemists, upstream and downstream processing, and good manufacturing practice and regulatory affairs. The programme runs over 4 semesters starting in the winter semester, with applications accepted throughout the year. Students may also complete the programme on a one-year fast track or pursue part-time study, depending on academic background and career objectives. The programme is based at Hochschule Fresenius in Idstein.
