About Master in Ma Digital Engineering Maschinenbau

Students in the Digital Engineering – Maschinenbau Master programme take part in a combination of engineering and computer science, with a focus on the integration of software and engineering tasks. This programme is offered to graduates of 7-semester Bachelor programmes in Digital Engineering, but with some conditions, students from other comparable 6-semester programmes may also have the option to study this Master, subject to some requirements. The core challenge addressed by the programme is the integration of classic engineering tasks and software, a challenge that has become increasingly important in various industries, including the automotive sector and Industry 4.0. With the growing importance of software in value creation, this programme prepares students for careers that demand a high level of software competence in engineering.

Flexible specialisation

The programme offers a wide range of electives from both mechanical engineering and computer science, allowing students to tailor their studies to their interests. Modules cover topics such as machine learning, software development, and product development, among others. Students must complete at least 3 modules (18 LP) from each of the two fields, with the remaining 36 LP open to choice, allowing for a focus in areas such as production technology, materials technology, or numerical methods.
