About Bachelor in Language and literature studies (Spanish)

This bachelor's program in Spanish Language and Literature is offered by the Philological School of Higher Education in Wrocław, in Wrocław, Poland, and runs full-time over three years, or six semesters, with English used as the language of instruction for the program overall. Four specialisations are available: a Translation Program, a Spanish for Business and Tourism Program, a Teaching Spanish as a Foreign Language track, and a general specialisation with free choice among available courses and no fixed professional profile. Full-time students attend fifteen weeks of regular classes per semester, with classes held Monday to Friday between eight in the morning and three in the afternoon. Each September, students register online for their courses, choosing class times and days, specialisation courses, and the format of individual courses. Two entry points are offered: a Language Beginner mode starting from A1 level in Spanish, or a Language Continued mode for native Spanish speakers or those holding proof of Spanish proficiency, such as a B2-level certificate or higher. Core coursework builds practical Spanish skills in listening and reading comprehension as well as speaking and writing, working toward proficiency at C1 on the Common European Framework of Reference. A range of activating teaching methods, supported by online resources, underpins this training. Alongside language study, students gain broad knowledge of Spanish literature and culture within a wider intercultural and interdisciplinary framework. Graduates are prepared for careers in translation, teaching, business, or tourism where Spanish-language skills matter, and the degree provides a foundation for further study in philology, linguistics, or related humanities fields. The structured weekday schedule suits students able to commit to a standard academic timetable through the full three years.
