Bachelor in Kulturwissenschaften (B.A.)

In the first semesters, you'll engage with central texts, fundamental concepts, and interdisciplinary methods in the development of cultural studies. You'll specialise in two chosen disciplines, learning scientific techniques, basic knowledge, and theoretical orientations. You could choose from cultural history, literary studies, linguistics, and comparative social sciences. The programme also requires that some of your credits are earned at either the Faculty of Law or the Faculty of Business and Economics, reflecting the university's interdisciplinary approach.

You will also learn two modern foreign languages up to B2 level (UNIcert II or completion of general language training). A study by the Centre for University Development (CHE) found that the majority of Viadrina alumni felt their language skills significantly enhanced their employability, with almost half rating them as a clear advantage.
