About the Program

International History and Security Studies at Collegium Civitas is a master's degree offered in English over two years, or four semesters, based in Warszawa, Poland, with annual tuition of 7700 PLN. The program runs as a Trans-Atlantic M.A. Dual Degree Graduate Program, beginning in October at Collegium Civitas, where students spend two semesters on core modules in International History and Security Studies, with particular focus on Central and Eastern Europe, the European Union and its external relations, terrorism, energy security, and sustainable development. After the first year, students spend a further two semesters at West Virginia University, taking courses in international history alongside electives in ethics in global politics, the history of intelligence, foreign policy, the history of dictatorships and democratization, human rights, international law, and environmental challenges. Graduates receive two degrees: an M.A. in History from West Virginia University and a Magister degree in International Relations from Collegium Civitas. Through the program, students gain advanced knowledge in international relations, diplomacy, and key topics in contemporary security studies, as well as in international law, ethics, and human rights, processes of European political and economic integration, topics in global and European history, foreign policy analysis, Central and Eastern European studies, and contemporary security threats including energy, terrorism, and environmental challenges. Students also develop advanced analytical skills relevant to foreign policy and security analysis. Beyond this specific dual-degree structure, master's programs in international history and security studies generally prepare graduates for careers in diplomacy, government agencies, international organizations, and research institutions focused on security and foreign policy.
