Bachelor in Industrial Engineering (BEng), full-time

The Bachelor of Engineering in Industrial Engineering at OTH Amberg-Weiden combines technical and business components with interdisciplinary modules, covering topics such as innovation, Industry X.0, the Internet of Things, and digitalisation. The engineering section covers fundamentals including mathematics and CAD as well as advanced topics such as robotics and automation. The management component addresses business process management, marketing and sales, and other industry-relevant skills. Interdisciplinary modules include logistics, software development, and language training. The programme balance is 31% engineering, 21% management, and 17% interdisciplinary content. The programme runs over seven semesters with intakes in both the winter and summer semesters. The first four semesters build core knowledge across engineering, management, and interdisciplinary subjects. Semester five is a practical semester in industry. From semester six, students choose elective courses from a wide catalogue to define their own specialisation, with options ranging from deeper management study to automation expertise. Integrated German language courses are included for non-native speakers, and students must reach A2 level in German before the start of the first semester.
