Master in Fahrzeugtechnik Meng

This 3-semester programme at the htw saar starts with a semester-1 mix of four obligatory modules and one optional one, and builds a solid understanding of the overall Driver-Vehicle-Environment system. Students go on to specialise, and in their third semester work on a practice-oriented thesis to earn a Master of Engineering. The programme's interdisciplinary approach, and its close cooperation with regional and international industry partners, was highlighted by Prof. Dr.-Ing. Rüdiger Tiemman, who noted the programme's focus on developing the future innovators of smart mobility.

With the automotive industry being the largest employer in the Saarland, and a major one globally, the programme is both timely and of high relevance. Students are able to take electives in subjects as diverse as Electronics and Information Technology, Engineering and Management, Mechatronics, Communications Informatics, Machine Building, Safety Management, and Bionics. Some modules are even offered in English. Students also have the option of a double degree, and those with 180 ECTS can undertake a 30-ECTS harmonisation semester.
