Doctoral Programme in Health Sciences (3-4 years)

The Doctoral Programme in Health Sciences at Itä-Suomen yliopisto is multidisciplinary, covering nursing science, public health (including ergonomics), epidemiology, sports medicine, geriatrics, occupational health care, general practice, and nutrition (including food science). To obtain the postgraduate degree, candidates must complete studies defined in the degree structure — transferable skills studies and studies in the discipline and field of research — along with an approved thesis. The four-year programme starts in January 2026 and is offered at Itä-Suomen yliopisto in Kuopio.
