Doctoral Programme in Biomedicine

This doctoral programme focuses on biomedicine, molecular medicine, and translational medicine, and is coordinated by the Faculty of Medicine. Doctoral researchers work across a range of sites, including the Faculty of Medicine, the Helsinki Institute of Life Science units — the Institute for Molecular Medicine Finland, Institute of Biotechnology, and Neuroscience Center — as well as private research institutes on the Meilahti Campus and other university faculties. Discipline-specific education includes course-based studies that develop scholarly skills and critical thinking. The programme also encourages participation in international conferences, symposia, research visits, and similar activities to support networking. The programme starts in September 2026 at the University of Helsinki in Helsinki.
