Master in Data Science (MSc)

The Master's programme in Data Science at Technische Universität Ilmenau is an English-language programme building on a bachelor-level background to provide advanced study in data science methods and their applications. The curriculum gives particular emphasis to AI-supported decision-making based on mathematical models, the quantification of uncertainties, and causal and Bayesian inference. Students also study reinforcement learning, data assimilation, cloud computing, and data management. The curriculum is divided into four areas: compulsory advanced data science topics (29%), an elective specialisation area (21%), individual projects (21%), soft skills and languages (4%), and a master's thesis (25%).
