Bachelor in Data and Information Science (Bachelor)

Students at the Institut für Informationswissenschaft on the Südstadt campus of TH Köln focus on extracting, processing and making data useful for questions in business, science and politics. They learn to analyse information, develop algorithmic techniques, and create visualisations to support decisions and optimise processes.

The seven-semester programme combines traditional information science methods with data science techniques, covering topics such as programming, data mining, information ethics, and data security. Students gain practical experience in developing and implementing ETL processes, data transformation, and information retrieval, as well as addressing ethical and legal aspects of data use.

With a strong emphasis on both technical and ethical skills, graduates are well-prepared for roles in data analysis, information management, and digital transformation across various industries.
