CoDaS is an Erasmus Mundus Joint Master's programme funded by the Erasmus+ Programme of the European Union. It is also one of the programmes promoted by Unite!, a network of European universities working toward shared frameworks for education and research across national borders. The two-year programme is built around study at a minimum of two partner universities in two different countries. The programme covers artificial intelligence, automation, control theory, data analytics, network security, wireless systems, distributed systems, and signal processing, with training that includes designing and analysing machine learning models and communication systems. Students also build skills in project planning, teamwork, entrepreneurship, and critical thinking alongside the technical content. The first year takes place at one of the home universities — Aalto, Técnico Lisboa, TU Braunschweig, or UPC BarcelonaTech — and covers foundational studies in mathematics, programming, security, communications, and data science. The second year is spent at a host university, where students pursue a specialisation and complete a thesis. Specialisation tracks vary by host university and cover combinations of communications, data science, security, automation, machine learning, medical informatics, and 5G or 6G systems. Graduates receive a double degree from the two universities where they completed their studies. The programme starts in the winter semester, with applications opening on 4 December and closing on 10 January.
