Academy Automotive

The Academy Automotive Programme at UCOL is designed for secondary school learners interested in exploring a career in the automotive industry. This program is ideal for students who are eager to gain practical experience while still in school. It offers a unique opportunity to work towards NCEA Level 2, providing foundational knowledge and skills in automotive mechanics, engine servicing, and auto electrical systems.

Throughout the program, students will engage in hands-on learning, covering essential topics such as general service checks, engine disassembly and reassembly, and the operation of various automotive systems. Graduates of the Academy Automotive Programme can pursue further studies in qualifications such as the New Zealand Certificate in Automotive Engineering or the New Zealand Certificate in Collision Repair and Automotive Refinishing.
