The first two years of the 5-year study are shared with human medicine students. After three years, students earn the title "Bachelor of Dental Medicine." A subsequent 2-year Master's program is required for independent practice.

Admission to the program is limited. Prospective students must register for the Medicine Aptitude Test annually between December 1st and February 15th. Registration is managed through Swissuniversities. The program is taught in German.
