University of Inland Norway offers a certificate/diploma in Special Needs Education. This program focuses on inclusive and special educational perspectives and working methods. It is designed for professionals working in kindergartens, schools, and other educational settings.

Programme Details

The programme lasts for 1 year. It is taught part-time and based on campus sessions. The study awards 30 ECTS credits. Instruction is in Norwegian (Nob). The programme starts in August. The campus location is Hamar.

Admission Requirements

To be admitted, applicants must have completed a teacher education, child welfare education, or a bachelor's degree of at least 180 ECTS credits. This degree must include a specialization of at least 80 ECTS credits in pedagogy. The application deadline for 2026 is August 25.

Campus and Schedule

The programme is part-time with mandatory sessions in Hamar approximately every two weeks. For Autumn 2026, sessions are on Fridays in weeks 36, 39, 42, 44, 45, 47, and 49. For Spring 2027, sessions are on Fridays in weeks 2, 4, 6, 9, 11, 14, and 16. The start date for studies in 2026 is Friday, September 4.
