Applicants who have a passion for languages and already hold at least one A-level or equivalent in a language, or who are prepared to begin learning new languages from the start, will thrive in this degree. The programme expects commitment to intensive study of three languages chosen from Chinese, French, German, Spanish or Portuguese, the willingness to spend a year abroad on a workplace, teaching or university placement, and an interest in the societies where those languages are spoken.
