Master in Strategic Design (MA)

Berlin, Germany Taught in English Open to international students

About the Program

The Master's programme in Strategic Design at SRH University Berlin sits at the intersection of innovation management, brand strategy, and creative process management. Students develop strategic thinking around branding, design processes, and innovation, learning to treat design as a resource for organisations rather than a surface-level discipline. The curriculum covers methods and theories in corporate and brand management, design thinking, social design, transformation design, systems thinking, critical thinking, and strategic participation. Students also acquire skills in user-centred research, creativity techniques, business models, sustainability, intercultural communication, and scientific methods required for thesis preparation. Teaching combines theoretical and scientific input with practical project work, workshops, and study visits to Berlin-based companies and institutions working in branding, strategic design, and social innovation. The programme runs over four semesters, with the master's thesis occupying the fourth semester. Study visits and collaboration with students from other disciplines and cultures are integrated throughout. Instruction starts in the winter semester and the annual tuition is EUR 9,960. The programme is offered at SRH University in Berlin, Germany.
