Steamfitter/Pipefitter Apprenticeship

This programme prepares students for a career as a steamfitter or pipefitter in industrial and construction sectors. Students learn to read blueprints, fabricate and install piping, and apply welding and rigging techniques. Training includes safety procedures, pressure testing, and system diagnostics. The programme combines classroom instruction with on-the-job experience over four years.

Four-year programme with 8 weeks of classroom instruction each year and a minimum of 1,560 hours of on-the-job training annually. 80% on the job, 20% in classroom or lab.

Graduates work as journeyperson steamfitters or pipefitters in industries such as oil and gas, construction, and heavy manufacturing.

ELA 30-2 and Math 30-3 and Physics 30 or Chem 30 or Science 30, or ELA 20-2 and Math 20-3 and Science 10, or pass on all five Canadian GED tests, or successful completion of AIT entrance exam.

On-campus, full-time, four years.
