About the Program

This programme is designed for individuals seeking a career in the construction industry. Students learn to read blueprints, fabricate and fit piping, and work with pressurized water systems. They are trained in fire codes, safety standards, and inspection procedures. The programme prepares students for a journeyperson role in sprinkler systems installation.

Four-year programme with 8 weeks of classroom instruction per year and 1,600 to 1,800 hours of on-the-job training annually. 80% on the job, 20% classroom. Completion requires a 65% weighted average and 70% on provincial exams.

Graduates become Sprinkler Systems Installers and may work as foremen in commercial or industrial settings.

ELA 30-2, Math 30-3, Physics 30 or Chem 30 or Science 30, and related CTS courses. Or ELA 20-2, Math 20-3, Science 10. Or pass all five Canadian GED tests. Or pass AIT entrance exam.

On-campus, full-time, four years.
