The module emphasises practical skills, guiding you through spatial joins, overlay, network analysis, surface and 3D analysis. You will also gain hands-on experience with FME, Modelbuilder, and the statistical package SPSS. Additionally, you’ll develop project management and reporting skills, learning how to integrate disparate datasets, critically appraise data quality, and present results effectively.

By the end of the module, you’ll be confident in planning and undertaking GIS analyses independently, applying GIS functions to solve real-world problems, and interpreting and presenting spatial data in a professional context.
