About the Program

The Space Sciences and Technologies (Space-ST) programme at the University of Bremen is an application-oriented, four-semester master's degree taught entirely in English. It covers three main data handling technologies: sensing, processing, and communication. The curriculum addresses remote sensing, earth observation, retrieval theory, electronics, communication, digital image processing, and data analysis. Students choose between two areas of focus: Physics for Space Observation or Information Technologies for Space. The programme is modular, combining compulsory core modules, specialisation subjects, elective modules, and practical laboratory courses. Interdisciplinary laboratory practicals with experiments drawn from all three subject areas allow students to test theories and methods in applied settings. In the first academic year, students cover foundations and select a specialisation. The second year deepens the chosen specialisation and moves into research, culminating in the master's thesis. The programme starts each winter semester. It is offered at the University of Bremen in Bremen, Germany.
