Bachelor in Soziale Arbeit (B.A.)

Soziale Arbeit (B.A.) offers a distinctive 6-semester, full-time curriculum with a 100-day supervised practice phase. The programme is structured in 21 modules, aligned with the Qualifikationsrahmen des Fachbereichstags Soziale Arbeit (FBTS) and the Kerncurriculum der Deutschen Gesellschaft für Soziale Arbeit (DGSA).

This programme is designed to prepare students for professional roles in social work, focusing on planning social support, counselling, and advocating for marginalised individuals. The curriculum includes a strong emphasis on scientific and theoretical knowledge from fields such as law, ethics, psychology, political science, and sociology. The programme also promotes essential skills for responsible and professional action in social problem situations. The programme's core curriculum and five content areas are consistent across all four campuses: Aachen, Köln, Münster, and Paderborn.
