Introduction

HZ University of Applied Sciences is a top-rated Dutch institution known for its personal approach and focus on practical, career-oriented education. Located on the beautiful Zeeland coast, it offers a unique learning environment where students are treated as individuals rather than numbers.

About the Program

Through this four-year bachelor programme, students will gain theoretical knowledge and practical experience in various areas pertinent to social work, including modules like Signaleren en adviseren for those interested in the Jeugd profile.

You'll spend a significant portion of your time on placements, with 40 hours of voluntary work in the first year and extensive stages in years 2 and 4. This hands-on experience is complemented by a broad curriculum that covers topics like psychologie, groepsdynamica, methodieken in begeleiding van cliënten, and more. In the third year, you'll specialise in one of three profiles: Jeugd, Welzijn & Samenleving, or Zorg, with the option to take a minor that can be completed at HZ or another institution, either nationally or internationally.

After completing your studies, you'll be well-prepared to work in various settings, including jeugdzorg, onderwijs, verslavingszorg, vrouwenhulpverlening, or wijkwerk. If you choose the Jeugd profile, you can register as a jeugdzorgwerker in the kwaliteitsregister Jeugd, while the Zorg profile leads to registration as a ggz-agoog in the GGZ-register.
