Master in Renewable Energy and E-Mobility (REEM)

Renewable Energy and E-Mobility (REEM) is a Master's programme at Stralsund University of Applied Sciences addressing the engineering challenges posed by the transition away from fossil fuels. The curriculum covers renewable energy sources — including photovoltaic and solar thermal systems, biomass, wind, and hydropower — alongside electric vehicle technology. The programme draws on the university's established experience in English-language engineering education and its faculty's cooperative relationships with international universities. The programme is available in a three-semester variant for students with at least 210 ECTS from their undergraduate degree, and a four-semester variant for students with at least 180 ECTS. The four-semester variant includes an internship semester; in the three-semester variant, a relevant internship of at least 12 weeks must have been completed before starting or must be provided before the Master's thesis registration. Compulsory modules cover mathematical-scientific foundations, modelling of physical systems, regenerative energy systems, methods of power engineering, and power electronics. Students then choose at least four or five elective modules from application areas including solar systems, wind power plants, hydrogen technology, fuel cell systems, vehicle management systems, and vehicle simulation. Lectures run over two semesters, with the final semester dedicated to the Master's thesis. The programme targets students with a background in electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, or physics, and is located at Stralsund University of Applied Sciences in Stralsund, Germany.
