About Master in MSc Renewable Energy Systems

The MSc Renewable Energy Systems at Hamburg University of Applied Sciences is a three-semester programme taught in person in English. The first two semesters cover theory and practice through modules in Numerical Mathematics, Data Acquisition and Processing, Wind Energy, Bioenergy and Biofuels, Solar Energy and Photovoltaic Systems Engineering, Solar Energy Converters, Plant Engineering and Project Management, Energy Conversion including Fuel Cells, Batteries, and Smart Grids, Electrical Engineering and Power Electronics, Numerical Simulation for Renewable Energies, Advanced Control Systems, and Energy Policy and Finance. Two elective modules are also included. Teaching in the first two semesters takes the form of lectures in small groups, seminars, lab work, and individual projects. The third semester is dedicated to the Master's thesis, which is typically carried out in industry with renewable energy companies.
